Terms & Conditions

Below is a summary of our Installation Service Terms and Conditions:

COVID-19: Please note that services may be restricted during the Covid-19 Pandemic and Terms may change without notice.

PLEASE NOTE: The site MUST be clear of dog and cat faeces. From a Health & Safety point of view, it is essential that our installers can operate efficiently in a hazard free environment. There MUST be easy access to the site location. Please review the site where we will be installing your polytunnel.

If you are not sure about anything please contact us BEFORE placing your order.

Site must be reasonably level and clear of all obstructions above and below ground, ground has to be soft dug.

Severe obstruction by rock, stone, cement or tarmac etc. WILL incur extra labour charge and hire of mini-diggers or kango hammers to be arranged and paid for by the customer. (If equipment is required, construction team will use the mini-digger or kango to dig the holes. An adequate working space of 2ft 6inches around tunnel/greenhouse is required. Specification of hire equipment required will be agreed with customer before start of build.)

Ground material arising from post hole excavations are to be removed by the customer. Any waste materials to be removed also by the customer.

Extra labour charge may occur due to poor site. It is the customer’s responsibility to advise Polytunnel Direct of any irregularities regarding site or soil conditions (above and below ground).

Customer to have power point and water accessible to the team. Our recommended construction crews require little in the way of site facilities, but it is assumed toilet facilities are available.

Where Plant or Equipment is required to cope with any aspect of construction charges for hire or otherwise, is to be the borne by the customer unless otherwise agreed with the builder.

Where Irrigation is fitted, water supply must be available at the time of completion in order that equipment is tested.
NOTE: WE DO NOT UNDERTAKE TO CONNECT TO EITHER ELECTRICAL SUPPLY OR WATER MAINS – THIS MUST BE DONE BY CUSTOMERS OWN CONTRACTOR. A COMMISSIONING CHARGE WILL BE MADE IF EITHER ELECTRICAL OR WATER SUPPLIES ARE NOT CONNECTED AT COMPLETION.

Reinstatement of existing surfaces are to be carried out by others. Please bear in mind that during Polytunnel installation there will be excess plastic trimmings. These trimmings will be left on site for your own disposal. The reason we do not take the excess trimmings away is that we have found in most cases, customers are happy to use the excess plastic for other purposes. It is also a safety consideration for our company, as in most cases we use a flat bed delivery vehicle and as such it is not practical for us to transport it safely on our return journey.

If a customer is constructing or assembling materials himself or herself or sub-contracting the construction out, the construction and assembly is carried out at client’s risk and responsibility.

Note: Regarding Fitting Automated Ventilating Windows

A ventilating window will open and close automatically when the environmental temperature changes. When fitting an Automated Ventilating Window to a Polycarbonate Greenhouse, the window is inserted into the polycarbonate sheeting, thus it cannot be sealed. Occasional leaking will occur and condensation between the polycarbonate sheeting is normal.

NOTE: REGARDING POLYCARBONATE GREENHOUSE INSTALLATION BY OUT FITTERS:

When choosing your Polycarbonate Greenhouse it is essential that the site must be as flat and level as possible.

If you are unsure please contact us for advice before you place your order.

This is to ensure the correct installation of your polycarbonate greenhouse.

If the ground is not flat and level as required, a refitting charge will be applicable or the kit will be left for self assembly.

Your Polycarbonate Greenhouse cannot be fitted on a sloped site.

Our Fitters will not carry out site works where the site is not flat and level. The site must also be easily accessible and clear of all instructions.

The site must be clear of dog and cat faeces.

If you are in any way unsure please call us on 087 366 8692.
